Today’s Research Reports on Trending Tickers: Spotify and Under Armour
U.S. equities were mixed Friday as strong earnings reports from major companies failed to boost investor’s enthusiasm. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 0.05 percent to close at 24,311.19, while the S&P 500 Index rose 0.11 percent to close at 2,669.91. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite Index increased 0.02 percent to close at 7,119.80. For the week, the Nasdaq and Dow Jones fell 0.4 percent and 0.6 percent, respectively, while S&P 500 ended 0.01 percent down.
Jack de Gan, chief investment officer at Harbor Advisory Corp., said that while GDP growth remained solid, it had been slow. “I’m worried there may have been an inflection point when Trump started to talk about trade and tariffs. If we start to see more trade tensions, then the idea of 3% growth goes out the window.”
