Today’s Research Reports on Trending Tickers: Alibaba and Momo

The Dow Jones Industrial Average and the S&P 500 Index closed Friday with a weekly gain, despite tech-giant Apple Inc. having its worst week in over a year and rising geopolitical tensions between the U.S. and North Korea. The Dow Jones declined 0.04 percent to close at 22,349.59, up 0.34 percent for the week, while the S&P 500 Index gained 0.06 percent to close at 2,502.22, up 0.05 percent for the week. Safe haven assets received a boost Friday after North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho stated that the country could consider testing a hydrogen bomb over the Pacific Ocean.

“There were North Korea jitters and the Fed this week, but for stocks we are in this quiet period in terms of getting ready for third-quarter earnings,” said Dan Morgan, senior portfolio manager at Synovus Trust Co.
